ABOUT THIS NEWSLETTER

This New Earth Perspectives (NEP) newsletter offers commentaries and perspectives on life and world events from the field of unified consciousness. It is this unified field of consciousness which will take us as a humanity into our future.

I therefore wished to make a small contribution to humanity's movement into this unified field of awareness by writing articles that reinforce the inclusive love-based nature we must learn to become living expressions of in order to truly liberate ourselves from the errors of our past. ~ the Editor, Simeon Nartoomid

Making the Transition to a New Paradigm Economic System

This is not meant to be a throrough treatment, nor the last word on, the topic of transitioning into a new paradigm resource based economic system. Rather I have given myself license to simply ramble a bit in hopes it will inspire some creative directions of throught and endeavor.

When I look at what Fresco envisions and try to imagine how we would get from here to there a number of questions arise in my mind. One of them has to do with the concept os attempting to create smaller working models of this type of economy within the world even though the world at large still uses the old profit driven model.

Seems to me that a full implementation of a resource based economic system based on cooperation versus competition would not really be possible until the entire world made the switch. The reason I feel this to be true is that ultimately the community using the new paradign system would still have to interface with the old paradigm system in various ways.

This would mean many of the materials and supplies the community needs would have to be procured through the old system if they could not be produced within the community itself. This in turn subjects the new paradigm community to having to pay for these supplies.

If the new paradigm community has to pay for their supplies like everyone else, then they also have to have a means of generating income and that takes them out of the new paradigm economic model that are attempting to develop.

However, it would seem to me that any attempt to transition into a resource based system would in fact involve a similar problem. Therefore it may be best to look for solutions to this problem before even attempting to define different ways that a transition could be engineered.

In contemplating this problem it also becomes apparent that any solution would in fact be determined largely by whether or not it was world-wide effort at transition wherein the whole system was attempting to make a radical change, or whether it was isolated new paradigm communities attempting to interface with the existing system that was not attempting to change.

Given the latter is most likely to be within the range of possibilities anytime in the near future, it may be best if we stick to that! I believe that this would pose a significant challenge to any new paradigm communities. However, if the community could adhere to its own principles of sustainability and cooperation even when interfacing with the old system then a bridge could be built and an example set.

In fact, this is something that even individual businesses wanting to make the shift could adopt. Without the support of a community it would not be as easy, but perhaps a non-geographic community of people and businesses with the same goal and purpose of creating a new economic paradigm could be formed using the internet.

Such community members could provide support for each other in various ways and cooperatively do business with each other whenever possible. This would be like bringing the spirit of goodwill back into business wherein the main goal was to truly serve the customers thus placing their satisfaction and they value they receive first and foremost.

It will take a lot of courage for those of us who pioneer this new terrain. The old paradigm economic system will not likely just give up its turf easily.

If, however, we keep in mind that our real job is to help expand the awareness of those still working in the old paradigm system in a way that helps them to see it is actually in their own best interest to make the switch, I personally believe it will happen and maybe sooner than we may think!

Zeitgeist: the Spirit of the Time
by Simeon Chiron Nartoomid

I watched the movie "Zeitgeist Addendum" on May 5th. This movie is produced by Jacque Fresco of "The Venus Project."

There is much of very high value in this project and I encourage everyone to watch the movie and take it from there (links provided at the end of this article). I am truly inspired that such a focus with a fairly well-developed community of people attempting to understand how we can transition to such a model of reality actually exists!

The basic thrust of what Fresco presents is centered upon the platform that our profit driven monetary economy creates most of the problems we experience in the world and by shifting to a resource based economy we can then deal effectively with our problems through cooperatively focused effort and the use of intelligent technologies. Intelligent management of our natural resources is part of the platform Fresco proposes and as well a sincere dedication to help each individual human being on Earth reach their fullest potential.

What truly set me back on my heels is how for years I have had an incredible number of insights come to me about so many things that Fresco speaks of. I also spent many years in the late 80's and 90's researching and learning about the nature of our current economic and governmental systems and how they have been in so many ways the instrument of our collective shadow nature. I have had many insights into various ways we could possibly approach moving into a new paradigm in this regard.

All of the models I have had come to me as insights have always looked strongly at the transitionary period into a new system, which is likely to be very critical. In my being I have always known that we are at some point moving beyond the need for money, its only ever been a matter of when and how to me. Fresco, however, takes and maps out the actual destination and hints at the transition as well. He pulls together all the pieces I have embraced over the years including my research on monetary and governmental systems and adds a few elements I had not embraced before. He masterfully puts it all together into this incredible presentation that makes it easy to see the whole problem and the solution in a very clear context.

He then also lays the groundwork for what our world could truly be like and demonstrates that we already have the technology and resources available to make it happen. The only thing that prevents it from happening now is the profit-driven economy we currently have which takes us down a different road of experience that is destroying our planet and our ability to each live our lives as expressions of our true potential, our nature of goodwill, and as the KNOWING that all of our basic needs are going to be always provided. Can you feel your whole body relaxing just at the thought of that?

Given the current economic crisis this deserves some careful consideration right here and now. In looking at Fresco's blog on "The Venus Project" website and the comments which are in the vein of naysaying (not too many surprisingly enough) are basically all addressing the shadow aspects of human beings. How will we overcome human pre-dispositions of greed, laziness, need for power, etc? One the one hand, these are entirely valid points and I'm sure they would have to be dealt with in any transitionary period, especially so with one that is heading towards such a radically new way of doing things on planet Earth.

On the other hand, it is critically important to recognize that all these shadow traits are very likely being perpetually fueled by the conditions of scarcity that are fostered through the profit driven system we have had since the inception of civilization as we know it. These systems in turn are but an extrapolation on the level of nature we reside in wherein everything competes for energy because it is perceived to be a closed energy system we are in.

Fact of the matter is, it is not a closed energy system. We are bombarded by energy from numerous sources outside our planetary sphere each day, not the least of which is our Sun. In the two book set entitled "The Second Coming of the Christ" by Parahamsaji Yogananda three levels of nature are defined as found in the Vedic scriptures. These are "Apara Prakriti" (impure or imbalanced nature), "Para Prakriti" (pure or balanced nature) and "Maha Prakriti" (super nature).

I have meditated with this awareness quite a bit through the years and I have come to realize that in Apara Prakriti (3rd dimension) we have limited awareness which causes us to perceive that we are in a closed energy system where we must compete with each other to survive. In Para Prakriti (5th dimension) we have much more expanded awareness and consciousness and we come to know that we can access the infinite energy system and we do so by cooperating with and supporting each other. In Maha Prakriti (7th dimension) we have transcended all limitations of awareness in regards to energy and we naturally and autonomously reside in states reflective of the infinite universal energy supply. These are of course not different places in space-time but different frequencies of awareness all co-existing in the same space-time dimensionally interpenetrating each other.

In then applying this three tiered model of nature to Fresco's vision for a new world it becomes apparent that we are moving in awareness as a collective to the level identified as Para Prakriti in the Vedic scriptures. The Venus Project is aptly named too in my opinion. On a practical level it is named thusly because Fresco lives in Venus, Florida. However, archetypally Venus is the Goddess of love, the Divine Feminine aspect of being that nurtures and supports life and all that it requires within an holistic system.

To me this truly is representative of the Spirit of our Time as the movie's name Zeitgeist suggests. I say bravo Jacque Fresco, and I can assure you I will become increasingly involved with this focus to help support its manifestation on Earth. I truly would like to be able to experience living in a world like Fresco describes, how about you?
